Thanks to our comprehensive application expertise, our products are not only used in a specific industry. Haarländer products prove to be the ideal solution wherever electricity needs to be carried or to be grounded and the conductor is subjected to high mechanical stress due to permanent movement and vibration.

We maintain tradition – Haarländer was founded in 1911 – and invest in the future. Our quality management system is certified according to DIN ISO 9001 and 14001.

Foundation of Haarländer & Schmidt in the small town of Georgensgmünd

1920

Relocation to Eckersmühlen, a district of Roth, our county seat

1935

Haarländer leaves the company for family reasons. Heinrich Schmidt continues to manage the company

1949

Johann Schmidt takes over as head of the company after his father’s death

1955

Portfolio: Woven products (ribbons), Traditional Lyonese wares, Strands, ropes and braids for electro-technical applications

1967

Shop floor expanded to nearly 3,000 m2

1970

Further expansion resulting in a total manufacturing area of 9,000 m2

1979

Fashion, consumer habits and market behavior change, with an era of mergers setting in

1981

On the 1st Januar, 1981 company is reorganized – Helmut Aurnhammer joins as new partner alongside Johann Schmidt

June 18 1981

Johann Schmidt passes away – having run and shaped the business for 55 years. He is succeeded by his son Rüdiger

1995

LEONI takes over Aurnhammer + Benedikt, thus automatically turning into co-owner of Haarländer & Schmidt as well

1998

LEONI becomes sole owner

1999

Haarländer moves to new location „An der Lände“ in Roth, with ribbon line being hived off and sold

2000

Change of name to Haarländer GmbH and establishment of his own knitting mill

2001

Expansion of the braiding department (8,12,16 and 24 braiding machines)

2005

Entry into connection technology: compacting and terminal welding by means of resistance welding. Start of flexible production with 2 manual workstations

2007

Weaving department: production capacity increased by 2 additional weaving machines

2015

Expansion of the weaving department (36 braiding machine)

2016

Expansion of the weaving department (36 braiding machine)

2020-2021

Construction of a new welding department and expansion of series production with a second fully automatic machine and additional manual workstations

2023

Deutsche Invest Mittelstand took over die LEONI Business Group Wire & Solutions and thus becomes a shareholder of Haarländer GmbH
